The EERA Joint Programme on Energy Storage (JP ES) actively participated in the International Congress on Sustainable Energy and Related Technologies (ICSET 2026), held from August 31 to September 4, 2026, in Palermo, Italy.
Represented by Dr. Olga Sumińska-Ebersoldt and Dr. Myriam E. Gil Bardají from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), JP ES leveraged the event to showcase its ongoing initiatives, strategic research priorities, and vision for Europe’s clean energy transition.

Keynote Address: On September 3, Dr. Olga Sumińska-Ebersoldt delivered a keynote presentation highlighting JP ES's strategy to accelerate energy storage research toward a renewable-based, climate-neutral EU by 2050.

Multidisciplinary Scope: Presentations detailed the 6 Sub-Programmes (SP1–SP6) covering electrochemical, chemical, thermal, mechanical, superconducting magnetic, and techno-economic storage domains.

Expanding the Network: Engaging discussions at the JP ES stand showcased membership advantages, the EERA Mobility Scheme, and collaborative initiatives through projects like RISEnergy.
